Description
The ASEP/Kid's Time Assistant Site Director is responsible for assisting the Site Director at the JCC's off-site and on-site After School Programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Youth and Camping Services (Lynn Capobianco), her/his main focus is running a safe, quality and enriching after school program that meets the needs of both children and families it serves. The ASEP/Kid's Time Assistant Director is responsible for providing leadership, effective guidance and stability for program continuity and to act as a role model for other staff. You must embrace the SJCC's mission and strategic plan in guiding current and future efforts.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Forming a positive working relationship with the school and JCC personnel
Aiding the Site Director in supervising and evaluating staff members
Assists Site Director in communication between parents and the JCC
Ensuring excellent & diverse programming
Forming relationships with children and parents
Implementation of behavior management strategies
Assist with supply shopping and maintenance
Ensuring regulations are meant to ensure the health and safety of children
Maintaining cleanliness of site
Submit information for monthly newsletter on time
Take lead if/when site director is not present
Maintaining accurate daily attendance records
Communicating issues with your supervisor
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Throughout the school year, when Niskayuna schools are closed, the JCC offers Vacation Day Programming at the JCC. You will be asked to work during those days. When schools are closed, have half days, or snow days you will also be asked to work. It is mandatory to attend staff trainings, and site director meetings.
Hours
Monday through Friday 1:30-6:00 pm. In general the Site Director/Assistant Site Director is the last one to leave the site, after all of the children have signed out.
Qualifications
Experience working with children
Demonstrates ability to lead program participants and coworkers
Demonstrates experience in program planning implementation
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to be approved by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services as the Assistant Site Director
