Misumi USA Service Desk Analyst in Schaumburg, Illinois

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Service Desk Analyst provides end-user and stakeholder support to MISUMI’s internal customers.  You will troubleshoot and restore routine technical service and equipment problems, perform root cause analysis, recommend solutions for problem prevention, document processes, share information with team members and assist others with work orders. This position is based in our Schaumburg, Illinois headquarters, and MISUMI offers a hybrid work schedule. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Problem solving / trouble shooting technical service and equipment problems including the following: desktops, laptops, mobile phones, printers, digital displays, network connectivity, active directory, exchange administration, technical advice, and perform informal training.

  • Providing best-in-class customer service to fulfill incident and service requests using established processes and procedures.

  • Tracking and monitoring progress on assigned KPI’s.

  • Handling requests submitted via IT ticketing system including follow-up, resolution and documentation of work orders completed.

  • Working with supervisor to document processes and service resolutions for future reference.

  • Recommending procedures and controls for problem prevention.

  • Working in a team setting, sharing information and assisting others with work orders.

  • Moving and installing printers, monitors, and other equipment as needed

    WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

     

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System (MIS) or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 1+ years of service desk experience.

  • A+, MCP, ITIL v3, HDI, certifications preferred.

  • Strong service/customer orientation, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems such as TrackIT! Or RemedyForce.

  • Strong documentation skills, especially in process documentation, asset management, and resolutions to service and incident requests.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an as needed basis.

  • Strong attention to detail and organized.

  • Solid problem solving/trouble shooting skills, demonstrated by working knowledge of operating systems/hardware/software.

  • Ability to work independently to complete assigned task.

  • Must be able to provide 24 x 7 on-call support as assigned.
