Senior Finance Analyst - Business Unit Controller

Location: Schaffhausen, Switzerland, Permanent Contract of 80-100%

Great opportunity in our plant controlling team in Schaffhausen that supports a site with production turnover to serve more than 25BN of trades sales annually. The Schaffhausen site is the only internal fill and finish site for large molecules and therefore one of the major sites in the Johnson & Johnson Innovate Medicine Supply Chain network. The site is redefining towards a launch and growth site and with that is undertaking major investments.

The controlling team consists of 6 team members locally in Schaffhausen.

The senior financial analyst will be responsible for overseeing the financial support for Device Assembly and Packaging, Small Molecules and Environment, Health, Sustainability and Safety. In this role, the analyst will play a critical role in supporting the plant's transformation into a launch and growth site, as well as its efforts to achieve operational excellence and sustainability targets.

Main tasks:

Business Partnership and Financial Guidance

  • Act as a business partner for the Small Molecule Business (Chemical API and Solids Manufacturing), Device Assembly and Packaging and Environment, Health, Sustainability and Safety providing financial guidance and support.

  • Participate actively in divisional staff meetings and guide the business through planning and actual reporting cycles.

  • Lead financial guidance during the business plan and update cycles, identifying cost actions and discussing opportunities for cost improvement programs.

  • Collaborate with business partners to achieve cost improvement targets and provide financial training as needed.

  • Lead an analyst or apprentice and support development

Capital Appropriation Request Process

  • Support the business divisions in the capital appropriation request process, ensuring all financial aspects are considered in planning and implementation of decisions/projects.

  • Validate proposals and offer financial expertise to support informed decision-making.

Subject Matter Expert Role

  • Assume the role of subject matter expert for full site for Headcount Actual, Plan and BvA.

  • Prepares Quotes for the level Device Assembly and Packaging, as well as the Imbruvica Brand P&L that is relevant for the profit sharing with our external partner.

  • This role has a direct report. Lead, motivate and develop an apprentice.

  • Explore possibilities for improving processes and contribute to enhancing financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

  • University/Bachelors’ Degree or Equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Economics

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience, team leadership a plus

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with teams in a virtual environment, fostering a culture of inclusion and collaboration across countries and teams.

  • Proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft packages, with a high level of computer literacy.

  • Experience with Analytics/Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.

  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting.

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven success in managing complex projects and processes, bringing clarity to complex business issues.

  • Knowledge of the German language is considered a plus.
