Guthrie Program Mgr, Value Analysis - Corporate Purchasing - Full Time in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Position Summary:

The Program Manager, Value Analysis will lead the establishment and ongoing facilitation of system wide Clinical Quality Value Analysis processes and structures to drive sustainable and significant savings while aligning with system objectives and strategic goals. The Program Manager, Value Analysis will maintain expert clinical knowledge to create optimization of patient care, patient safety, caregiver safety, physician satisfaction, and supply chain performance through the oversight of the technology review, evaluation, selection, and implementation process. Proven success executing project timelines, documenting decision-making results, and facilitating preparation of needed analytics is crucial. The position will serve as liaison between clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as well as senior leaders to communicate and present analysis and reporting on various key results to measure the success of the decisions reached utilizing value analysis processes. The Program Manager, Value Analysis will create and lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams in supply standardization, various value analysis committees, and clinical cost savings initiatives resulting in the selection of the "highest-valued" supplies and services to be used in fulfilling The Guthrie Clinic's patient care mission.

Education, License & Certification

Bachelors or Masters' Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree, or in pursuit, strongly preferred. Current RN license in good standing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or obtain within three months of employment required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of clinical nurse experience required. Minimum of 3 years of nurse leader experience required. Project management experience preferred. Ability to navigate within a complex environment with multiple projects and priorities required. Previous role in nursing staff education required.

Essential Functions:

  • Routine communication and coordination of work with physician leadership, counterpart teams and other key internal and external stakeholders engaged in supply chain activities will be critical to the establishment of this program.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for day-to-day clinical contract activities. Contacts include staff of all levels, group purchasing organizations, consultants, industry representatives, and vendors.

  • Works collaboratively and as a clinical liaison with physicians, clinical and non-clinical teams, administration, vendors, and other individuals internal and external to maximize patient care, patient and employee safety and ensure cost-effective utilization of financial resources and the sharing of opportunities.

  • Responsible for the facilitation of Value Analysis Teams (VATs), project teams and general project management as required. Coordinate and assist in the development of programs involving products, product evaluations and implementations, and purchased services.

  • Supports any existing value analysis teams, group purchasing organizations, and other hospital committees and business partners.

  • Facilitates timely decisions on products, services, and projects with regions, and vendors to maximize education, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Researches best demonstrated practices, investigates new or alternative products/services based on caregiver input, observations, product issues, costs, suppliers, and other resources.

  • Establishes a calendar, agendas, and a process for the continual identification and prioritization of patient and employee safety, patient satisfaction, and cost containment opportunities.

  • Leads monthly value analysis team meeting, assigns tasks, and publishes meeting minutes. Serves as a clinical resource for item substitutions.

Other Duties:

  • Serve as point of contact for issues that relate to assessment, analysis, coordination, implementation and reporting on clinical contracting programs and services offering or necessary technology applications that support these efforts.

  • Project management of detailed action plans with timelines, roles, and responsibilities for clinical supply chain projects.
