Jacobs Traffic Engineering Intern - Summer 2025 in Savannah, Georgia

Typical work tasks include:

  • Wiring in control cabinets.

  • Repair, remove, or replace a signal head or other signal devices.

  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of adverse conditions

  • Program computerized traffic control device

  • Interpret work using electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and street intersection prints.

  • Understand occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical and electronic trade.

  • Understand the use and care of standard tools, materials, methods, and practices of electrical and electronic repair.

  • Assist in traffic operations work including corridor retimings, signal metrics investigations and responses to citizen complaints

  • Create and/or interpret Synchro traffic plans and assist with in-field traffic plan implementation

  • Pull daily and/or weekly signal metric data and assist in interpretation, investigation, and task creation

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, in an accredited program with an emphasis in transportation.

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs

  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
