PHA Georgia, LLC Maintenance Mechanic in Savannah, Georgia

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensures equipment is running to proper specifications.
  • Assists with the installation of new plant equipment.
  • Performs emergency and nonstandard repairs of equipment and facility.
  • Ensures strict concordance to required health and safety standards.
  • Immediately locks out any dangerous activity or equipment that is posing a safety threat.
  • Ensures that all equipment is operating in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Ensures that all firefighting equipment is properly maintained in accordance with federal, state and local fire codes.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping at all times.
  • Supports production schedule and the setup of assembly lines.
  • Participates in the day-to-day working of the plant.
  • Serves on plant committees and attend required plant meetings and training when required.
  • Drives fork-lift or man-lift to move materials throughout the plant and surrounding area.
  • Handles the demand of identifying and repairing down equipment in a minimum amount of time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
  • Other skills required:
  • At least 2 year experience in maintaining industrial equipment
  • Maintains a positive attitude and punctuality throughout the facility
  • Must be capable of working the required overtime and during plant shutdown periods including holiday periods
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards as they relate to the role
  • Must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting PLCs
  • Required knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Understanding of electrical, physical, and pneumatic properties of equipment (e.g. voltage, torque, air and water pressure, and current) in both metric and English measurements
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, computer schematics/logic, and programmable logic controls

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear.
  • Continually required to climb, bend and stoop.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Additional remarks regarding work environment:
  • Work area is heat/air conditioned.
  • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used:
  • Hearing protection, protective masks, steel toe shoes, and other necessary PPE may be required.
