Job Title: Apprentice Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Apprentice Electrician to join our team for construction projects based in Savannah, Georgia. This position is responsible for assisting the lead electrician with installing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring that work is done in accordance with relevant codes. Work involves technical application of electrical principles using appropriate equipment and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead electrician with installing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

• Ensure all work is done in accordance with relevant codes.

• Perform rough-ins and final installations of conduit and MC Cable.

• Install electrical panels, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and wiring in equipment.

• Conduct start-up and energizing procedures of equipment.

• Work on fire systems.

• Focus on common areas such as main floor, basement work areas for employees, hallways, stairwells, restaurant, and rooftop bar.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience with commercial electrical work.

• Experience in hotel electrical work preferred.

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

• Experience in running MC Cable, pulling cable, and conduit bending.

• Knowledge of installing lighting, panels, switches, and outlets.

• Thorough understanding of electrical codes.

• Proficient use of electrical tools such as knife, pliers, screwdrivers, nut drivers, keyhole saw, hacksaw, hammer, level, channel locks, needle nose pliers, voltage meter, tool pouch, diagonal pliers, wrenches, taps, wire strippers, socket set, tape measure, side cutters, flashlight, and cordless drill.

Work Environment

You will be working at new construction projects, requiring standard PPE. The work will involve various common areas and may be subject to varying conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
