TEKsystems Alarm Installer (Savannah GA) in Savannah, Georgia
Description:
This job is suitable for someone either:
With Alarm installation/servicing experience - they would be used for Service ticket work
Entry level cabling and construction experience - they would be used for simple install work
Qualifications:
People who have come from a background or education where they have worked with their hands and are mechanically sound provided customer service and worked outside typically work out much better than people with an office background .
They will install Add-On devices to existing customer security systems
If they possess Security Alarm experience already they will be used to address service tickets for customers
Day-to-day duties:
First week will involve completing LMS training classes - while on site at an branch office
Second week will be a field training week - they will watch a senior tech perform the work
Third week they will get their hands on the equipment, perform installations while being trained by a senior technician
Forth and fifth week will be continued training until the new hire is able to perform the work independently.
After training they will be doing the following work:
Installation and programming of Burglar Alarms, CCTV (IP & Analog), DVRs, and Access Control Systems for residential customers.
Installing window breaks, door units, and smoke detectors.
Troubleshooting signal issues to ensure the alarm functions properly if needed.
Perform daily hands-on field interaction with customers at the site level and some smaller customer care levels.
Test and verify signals for equipment
Train customers on how to use the equipment, connect to the devices, and answer all questions including ensuring that they have no additional need (equipment, etc.).
Completing necessary customer paperwork for each job.
Cost ALL PART utilize for each job installed before closing out jobs with the dispatch center.
Maintaining accurate truck inventory of products.
Provide top-quality customer service.
Achieve 90% Goal Attainment for completed installations and zero “go-backs”.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must have Great Communication skills. This is very important along with being reliable and an adaptive personality. This person should have stellar interpersonal skills, along with the ability to think quickly on their feet, read non-verbal cues from the residential customer, and have a solution-oriented, customer-centric attitude. It's important to give the customer confidence that their issue will be resolved.
Tools Needed: 6-foot ladder (they can get a Little Giant that folds up if they drive a sedan), screwdrivers but preferably an electric drill, wire cutters, and hand sheetrock saw. (This may take them some time to build up, but they need to understand the expectation)
PPE Kit: Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by TEKsystems
uniform polo shirts will be provided by TEKsystems
A reliable Vehicle:
FAQ: What radius are they traveling to?
They are going to try and keep them within a 2 hr driving radius, but most work will be within the metro area
FAQ: Is there mileage etc.?
Once out of training, they will be able to reimburse $100 per week for gas (Submit receipts)
If they drive over 300 miles per week they can claim the additional miles over 300 on an expense report submitted to their TEKsystems Delivery Management team

FAQ: Is there weekend work?
Yes, the schedule can vary from Mon-Fri or Tue - Sat
Working overtime is allowed. Working OT and a sixth day each week is not enforced for contractors, but it is sometimes allowed, and requested.
The daily hours - stay until the customers job is completed whether it's 5pm, 6pm or later
FAQ: Do they get to expense a ladder/tools?
They do NOT get to expense the equipment/they have to provide their own ladder and tools and a foldable ladder is highly suggested because they fit in a smaller car. They do not have to have their tools on day one
