Summary About the Position: Serve as the Volunteer Program Coordinator for the Bay Model Visitor Center. Responsibilities Serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Bay Model Visitor Center. Identify tools and methods to fortify and grow a sustainable, diverse partnership and volunteers program. Manage the Bay Model volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, task assignment, and program purchasing. Collaborate with a variety of public and private partners in natural resource management, related to recreation and environmental stewardship in the Bay Area. Prepare and implement short and long-range volunteer program and partnership program goals with the Bay Model Project Manager. Develop proposals for new policies, positions, procedures, and/or methods for improving volunteer and partner participation at the Bay Model Visitor Center. Research, plan, and lead public interpretive programs related to the Bay Model, USACE missions, education, and STEM. Collaborate with USACE public affairs office to communicate information about the Bay Model and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers using social media interpretive exhibits, revolving displays, public tours, and other methods. Provide contract administration and field support to the Bay Model Contracting Office Representative(s). Support the Bay Model's special use program and events. Monitor internal and external compliance programs to ensure Bay Model program(s) are in alignment with agency policy. Maintain complete and accurate records in all assigned program areas for reporting through agency systems. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service in areas such as visitor assistance, guiding tours; planning, facilitating and managing events; and coordinating with a variety of public, private, and government partners. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education with major study in natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Execution Natural Resource Management Oral Communication Public Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
