Thoroughbred Horse Groom- Saratoga 40 fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 04/01/2025-11/25/2025
Employer: Todd A. Pletcher Racing Stables Inc., 7495 West Atlantic Ave., Ste 200-380, Delray Beach, FL 33446.
Duties: Assist with the daily care of horses and preparation of horses for training as well as participation in races. Workers will prepare horses for races. Feed/water horses, clean, tack, bathe, brush, and clip horses, apply horse boots and prepare horses to be saddled for races. Clean horses' feet, apply/remove leg wraps/boots and saddle for training. Bathe/cool down horse after training/racing. Assist veterinarian while performing physical examinations by keeping the horse calm and under control. Assist farriers as they inspect, remove, apply, adjust, and work with horse's hoof and shoes by keeping the horse calm and under control. Clean/re-bed stalls. Hose down horse with cold/warm water. Wrap horse in brace or poultice bandages as necessary.
Ability to lift 150lbs with assistance.

No education required, 1 month experience required.
Workdays: Mon-Sun, split shift 4am-11:30am, 3pm-4:30pm, 54 hours/week. Schedule and overtime may vary but will generally be 6 days per week with a rotating day off. $17.66/hour and OT at $26.49/hour.
Optional dormitory-style housing available at racetrack for no charge, but employer does not provide housing
A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.
Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.88/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.
