Skidmore College Sanitation and Safety Steward in Saratoga Springs, New York


Skidmore College is accepting applications for a full-time Sanitation and Safety Steward. Hours will vary depending on position and will require working evening and weekend shifts. Duties include: set up of dish room; cleaning trash room; sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floor and general kitchen maintenance. Ability to operate appropriate equipment required with previous related employment desired.


High School diploma or GED and six months previous work related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds with appropriate equipment and assistance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Saturday 3:30 pm - 12:00 am

Sunday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Monday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Tuesday off

Wednesday off

Thursday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Friday 3:30 pm - 12:00 am


$15.71 per hour per the contract which is 90% of the prevailing wage for someone new or the rate will be the full $17.45 if current regular union member eligible for 100% rate.
