Sarasota County Government Project Manager III / Administrator - Transportation & Stormwater Design in Sarasota, Florida

As the Project Manager/Administrator III- Transportation & Stormwater Design, you will direct the planning, design, review and /or construction of transportation and stormwater projects in the Capital Improvement Program. Capital Project Planning

  • Provide technical support/consultation throughout the design activity

  • Prepares project charters and comprehensive project budget estimates

Design Project Management

  • Day-to-day interface with owner/owner’s representative

  • Prepare solicitation for Professional Services – work with owner and procurement

  • Negotiate contract scope, budget and schedule with selected consultant

  • Review acquisition requirements and coordinate early with Real Property the obtaining of easements/right-of-way

  • Review permitting requirements and coordinate permitting activities with Agencies and consultants.

  • Primary point of contact for consultant team

  • Review design reports and 30, 60, 90% design documents and other design submittals and coordinate with other stakeholders and consultant comments back to EOR/AOR

  • Coordination with all applicable utilities

  • Prepare a weekly summary of project activities for Operational Manager review

  • Maintain a highly detailed comprehensive timeline of projects

Support During Construction

  • Coordinate the preparation of construction bid documents, including technical specifications

  • Coordinate construction Bid advertising with Procurement

  • Support selection of Services During Construction (including Engineer of Record)

  • Turn over package to Construction Project Manager

Environmental and Mitigation Consulting and Implementation

  • Responsible for coordinating the review or consultant submittals for compliance with local regulations, land development regulations, and other pertinent County policies, State, and/or Federal policies. Review traffic, stormwater, and environmental impacts

  • Support teams by coordinating with outside agencies to resolve permit consistency issues dealing with habitat and wildlife protection

    E-Work/Hybrid Work: Currently this position is eligible to e-work up to 2 days per week! After you complete your first six months, contingent on work requirements and other factors, you’ll be eligible for this fantastic benefit.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About You

To thrive in this position, you must have-

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or highly related field AND five (5) years of engineering and/or project management experience.

  • A Master’s degree in one of the above-mentioned fields can substitute for one year of required experience.

  • Project experience can substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.

  • Valid Florida driver’s license.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $71,000.00 - $86,000.00 based on experience
