Honeycomb Company of America, Inc. Manufacturing Engineer II in Sarasota, Florida

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer II applies knowledge and skills concerned with all primary aircraft systems critical to the performance of the aircraft and flows down contractual requirements to ensure the product conforms to its intended form, fit, and function. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications and plans the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to HCOA approved Operation Procedures, Quality Conformance, Testing, and Technical Data or Directive.

Responsibilities:

  • Can independently perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above
  • Produces technical data as necessary to assist with manufacturing, including 3D CAD Files, Mylars, Shop Aides, Dimensioned Drawings, and any other applicable media.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling including forms tooling and medium complexity bond fixtures.
  • Can independently perform all essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Provides training and oversight to Manufacturing Engineers I and II.
  • Works directly with external customers when necessary to field technical concerns.
  • Works with production to develop necessary tooling from authority datasets, including complex contoured drill and bond fixtures.
  • Serve as engineering support for investigation of CARs and PQDRs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Engineering or equivalent from a college or university
  • 4 years' engineering experience
  • Product Development (Build Methods, Control Tooling and Technical Data Management)
  • CAD Familiarity (Basic SolidWorks Navigation, Minor DXF Manipulation)
  • Broad knowledge and comprehension of technical data and drawings
  • Aerospace or defense contract experience (preferred)
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen

Background and Drug test required.

Job is onsite, Monday-Friday

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to telephone, mouse, and keyboard. The ability to communicate and exchange accurate information so others will understand is required. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
