Role reports to: R&D Feminine Care Leader

Location: São José dos Campos/SP

What you will do

The R&D Senior Scientist is responsible for planning, designing, and conducting complex experiments, analyzing, and interpreting results, and summarizing findings for presentation. You will also Lead and execute research and development for Women's Health franchise focused on engineered product technology (liners, napkins and tampons) for regional and global landscape.:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative research projects in alignment with the R&D Senior Scientist role

  • Be a consumer obsessed and stays up to date on external environment to contribute with technical ideas and concepts that impact brand strategy success and generates innovative ideas to create value to the brand pipeline

  • Independently designs and executes new product development and cost improvements, translating business needs into concrete R&D deliverables, according to the agreed brief and consumer needs, attending claim requirements, cost targets within budget and timeline.

  • Design and implement experiments to evaluate new technologies and products

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to draw meaningful conclusions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive scientific advancements

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field

  • Design and conduct highly complex experiments to identify and develop new scientific concepts and technologies, leveraging insights from the top_responsibilities.

  • Develop and refine materials, processes, products, and scientific procedures to ensure continuous improvement, in alignment with the Role and general_summary.

  • Contribute significantly to the national level through scientific literature and conferences, building on the Role and general_summary.

  • Lead and direct experiments, developing methodologies and protocols, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and selecting techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining resolution, in consultation with supervisor, in alignment with the Duties.

  • Marketing discussions on product NPI strategies and support business in claims elaboration.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • University/Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in a related field of Engineering or Chemistry

  • 5-6 years of related experience in scientific research and development

  • Working knowledge in statistical analysis with familiarity in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, etc.)

  • Experience in a product development setting for engineered products (absorbent, diapers, bandages, etc)

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Advanced English

  • Ability to influence others

  • Ability to work independently, while managing multiple priorities successfully

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or equivalent in a related field of Engineering or Chemistry

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets

  • Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field

  • Experience in a product development setting for formulated products (shampoo,, etc)

  • Intermediate Spanish
