SUMMARY To assist the Quality function as technical support in issues affecting manufacturing. The Quality Engineer ensures that performance and product quality conform to established company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Reviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly and process. Investigates problems and recommends disposition, modification, and corrective action for recurring or non-recurring discrepancies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and maintain QA plans and timeliness of new product introductions.

  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control plans and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.

  • Provide support for all quoting activities by participation in initial process design, development, and implementation phases.

  • Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines.

  • Support training programs specific to their customer by development and implementation of specialized training sessions for all applicable functions.

  • Conduct periodic review and maintenance of all documentation files; develop appropriate systems for document storage and access.

  • Review all supplier, internal or customer discrepancies. Coordinate and track the corrective/preventative action effort.

  • Supports and may champion change controls in relation to customer, supplier, and internally driven changes.

  • Participate in the vendor survey activities as applicable. Drive proactive participation with suppliers and (when possible) aid in their process improvement efforts.

  • Interface with all departments as applied to the Policies and Procedures.

  • Provide insight and assistance of implementing and maintaining Process Improvement and Optimization concentrating on proactive methodologies.

  • Assist in driving the standardization of manufacturing processes of global customer accounts as applicable.

  • Interface and provide technical support on quality issues with the customer as needed.

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

  • Analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Support the audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Confirms that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is complete and compliant with requirements.

  • Develops methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Writes, reviews, approves process validations/qualifications, facilitates resolution of validation deviations in accordance with Jabil and customer requirements.

  • Evaluates, makes recommendations, and implements changes to the validation and qualification program as part of continual improvement or remediation activities.

  • Leads investigation team, and documents response in ensuring timely resolution of customer complaints.

  • Constantly seeks to improve work processes; Has a quality-first mentality; Learns from internal and external best practices to apply to her/his work.

  • Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.

  • Role model and promote the organizations Values and Behaviors.

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

    Customer service skills as well as effective communication skills – both verbal and written. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. Ability to work additional hours as needed. Ability to travel. Good English knowledge both verbal and written.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.

  • 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    · Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.

    · Travel requirements: Domestic and/or Global, up to 20%

  • Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
