CHERRY HILL FARMS INC Farm Worker/Orchard Laborer (Temporary) in SANTAQUIN, Utah
Temporary Need: 02/15/25 - 11/15/25. Twenty (20) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Workers/Orchard Laborers needed. Wage is $17.84/hour. Hours: 40 hours/week, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon. to Fri. Work location: Santaquin, Utah. Duties: This job requires a minimum 3 months of prior experience working in apple, peach or cherry orchards, handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time, work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking, and temperatures can range from 10 degrees f to 100 degrees f. Persons seeking employment as a experienced Orchard Worker must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Pruning of trees using hand pruners, Workers must be able to handle ladders which are 12 foot in length and weigh 40 lbs. Climbing up and down, pruning of trees using pneumatic s consisting of an 8 foot pole while dragging an airline. Stacking tree limbs, planting trees, shoveling soil, applying fertilizer, picking up rocks, pulling weeds, irrigation, thinning fruit from a ladder, Harvesting Sweet and tart Cherries, Peaches, Apples and Grapes, picking fruit per instructions of supervisor, carrying a picking bucket while full of fruit for up to a 8 hour day. Driving harvesting equipment, must be able to work in hot, dry, dusty, noisy, cold, wet, snowy conditions, must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., be able to follow instructions of job requirements, have ability to problem solve. Workers will be required to keep all property and housing clean Terms and conditions of employment: Workers will be required to keep all property and housing clean. The employer will provide to the worker at no charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Workers must be available for the entire work period; be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency; work at a sustained, vigorous pace on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Workers must have or will be trained in USDA Gap certification standards. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Applicants that have not worked in crop harvesting during the past twelve (12) months, up to two (2) references will be required. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest pay rate).
