Element Materials Technology Scientist in Santa Rosa, California
Overview
Element has a current opening for a Scientist to join our growing team in Santa Rosa, CA. The main responsibility of the Scientist is to develop chemical processes and ensure their execution in a timely and safe manner under minimal supervision. To assume the responsibilities of Project Manager, as assigned.
The pay range for this job is set between $100k-$110k but will depend on the individual qualifications and experience of the candidate and which title level they fall into.
Responsibilities
Conducting research and development activities in synthetic chemistry under minimal supervision
Participating in design and execution of scalable processes under minimal supervision
Providing technical review of executed batch records
Acting as or assisting the Project Manager, as assigned
Writing and reviewing technical reports
Maintaining accurate laboratory records
Participating in cGMP or non-GMP manufacture as assigned by supervisor
Responsible for batch production record preparation
Understanding of and compliance with appropriate SOPs
Ensuring safety and cleanliness of laboratory work areas
Helping create a positive work environment
Other reasonable duties may be assigned as necessary
Skills / Qualifications
Advanced degree in organic chemistry or equivalent experience
cGMP experience preferred
Be able to work as a team member
Good communication skills
Strong laboratory skills
Knowledge of synthetic and purification techniques
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Ability to work with large glassware
Ability to safely handle hazardous materials
Ability to move/lift 50 pounds
Ability to bend to reach floor level
Ability to wear respirator
