Overview

This Senior Project Developer/Associate Director, Development will drive and support the development of transmission-scale solar, hybrid, and standalone energy storage projects in the WECC market, including in WA, OR, AZ, CO, NV, and NM. This position will report to the VP of Development for the West. The Development organization leads asset development from early to NTP stages. The position will manage 3-5 projects at various stages of project maturity. The successful candidate will have significant proven renewable project development experience, meticulous project and pipeline management abilities, strong communication skills, and an ability to drive projects to successful completion. We are looking for a team member able to hit the ground running, who is excited by a fast pace and is eager to make CCR the leading developer in these markets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead development activities from greenfield to NTP for a set of priority projects, including site acquisition, real estate and title, survey, permitting, interconnection, EPC pricing, engineering, environmental, offtake, and policy

  • Prioritize, coordinate, review, track, and execute on key project development deliverables in coordination with internal and external teams

  • Stress-test and optimize project development strategy

  • Manage and report project data as it pertains to budget, schedule, and deliverables

  • Achieve development milestones on time and on budget to successfully advance projects to financing and construction

  • Gather market intelligence and expand relationships with landowners, local governments, utilities, and other market participants to inform and refine project development processes

  • Prepare and submit land use permitting applications, execute on permitting strategy, manage consultants, and attend and present at permitting meetings and hearings

  • Review and manage project contract compliance for contracts including leases, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements

  • Assist in development strategy and process refinement for the market

Education & Experience Required

  • 6-8+ years of experience in energy project development, with a strong preference for having significant utility-scale renewable experience in the West

  • 4 year bachelor's degree required. MBA or other relevant master’s degree valued.

  • Sound project management, budgeting, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment

  • Results-driven and solutions-oriented

Locations: Open to location in Los Angeles CA, San Francisco CA, or West remote position depending on experience.

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $150,000-$185,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
