The Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney’s incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. This team impacts the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content in more personalized and immersive ways, leveraging cutting-edge technologies ranging from Machine Learning to Extended Reality.

Job Summary

Hulu’s Product team is responsible for building the Hulu app experience to engage, retain, and delight our 50M+ viewers. Our team is highly focused on delivering where Hulu’s strengths meet our opportunities: engaging content discovery experiences backed by flexible capabilities and providing user choice and control for our subscribers. We succeed when we simultaneously make our viewers happy while also meeting myriad business goals and objectives. We are seeking a strong Sr. Product Manager II to champion & deliver impactful content discovery and user choice features across the Hulu experience.

With proven experience digging into data, leveraging user research, and experimentation, our ideal candidate will wish there were more hours in the day to test out their next hypothesis. You will be partnering across many levels within the organization, and as such, your ability to communicate and influence effectively is critical. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, exercises strong product sense, is nimble, cares about their team, and does not wait to be told what to do.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive critical features for our product, specifically focused on content discovery, user choice and customization

  • Leverage analytics and insights to propose, develop, and launch a roadmap of highly-effective product features impacting key success metrics

  • Identify opportunities to optimize the Hulu experience and create experimentation plans to support those decisions with data

  • Collaborate with cross functional product peers, engineering, and design to successfully realize the release, management and experimentation over product features you lead

  • Drive end-to-end responsibility and ownership for your product feature/capability from concept to the finish line and in its daily usage

  • Contribute to prioritizing and driving alignment for a varied product roadmap across a diverse set of stakeholders including product partners, ads, engineering, design, commerce, legal, finance, and operations

  • Define OKRs and KPIs, track the health of your product domains, and understand changes in behavior/data

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years of product management or other relevant work experience required

  • A demonstrated passion for analytics and a willingness to dive really deep into the data

  • Ability as a Product leader to craft a compelling vision and gain support and alignment from cross-functional partners

  • A proven track record of launching engaging, user-centric features in a direct-to-consumer business and building solutions that map fully from end-to-end. Equally comfortable discussing internal tools and APIs as consumer-facing features

  • Familiarity with user segmentation and cohort analysis

  • A strategic and systems thinker, always with a view further out than anyone else in the room

  • Demonstrated ability to define requirements, discuss technical concepts with engineering teams, and understand architectural and technical implications.

  • A proven ability to find creative compromises in challenging circumstances

  • Comfortable with shifting focus and adapting to changing priorities while continuing to move projects forward

  • A history of establishing and maintaining successful cross-functional relationships

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to drive clarity through all levels of the organization

  • A sense of humor and a love for TV!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product management experience in or high-level technical understanding of the streaming video landscape

  • Experience in A/B experimentation, testing tools, and analytics

  • Experience with algorithmic recommendations in a production environment

  • Worked in organizations with agile software development practices and latest industry methodologies.

  • Focus on impact with a proclivity to frame work in terms of impact, effort, and cost

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $156,300 to $209,600 per year and in California is $149,300-$200,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
