Job Description Summary:

Hiring Range from $120,000+ annual salary

Responsible for the overall administrative management of operational activity of the Nursing Specialty Division. Assists in planning of activities and financials while supporting profitability and cost effectiveness of nursing services provided. Organizes, administers, and supervises health services within the department. The Nurse Manager, Specialty enforces and ensures that a total quality management program for all aspects of patient care is maintained.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Directs the activities of the nursing department for assigned specialty. Schedules work activities of nursing staff so that the patient care needs are met.

  • Complies with requirements of the Company and ensures that services are provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and agency policy.

  • Directs the supervision and evaluation of all nursing personnel who provide administrative support and direct patient care for the division. Manages and collaborates accordingly for all human resource issues related to personnel, including recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplines, and terminations.

  • Collects and organizes all approved patient referrals. Reviews all required patient-specific information to provide appropriate in-home nursing services for division. Assesses suitability for home care in accordance with Option Care policies. In collaboration with education team, provides continuing education to physicians, nurses, and other practitioners on home care infusion-related issues, including competency and orientation programs.

  • Manages daily activities with regards to effective operations and communications and ensures the office remains in compliance with all regulating and accreditation entities. Complies with reporting requirements, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and monitors and evaluates medical supply usage. Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting nursing operational and financial data to the executive team.

  • Effectively communicates in a timely manner with CMCs during the intake process for new referrals; recognizing need to involve other team members when appropriate, escalating issues when necessary.

  • Develops, implements, evaluates, and participates in continuing education and orientation programs in collaboration with our education team. Supports the development and implementation of the Plan of Care for each patient.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with an active and unrestricted license in the current state of practice and at least 4 years of home health/infusion care experience,

OR

  • At least 2 years of nursing supervisory/managerial experience in a home care setting.

  • At least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrates competency in the clinical management of home infusion patients as evidenced by documented previous work experience. Knowledgeable and competent in-patient management skills including the nursing process. Demonstrated knowledge of documentation and billing requirements for home health/infusion care goods and services.

  • Guides, directs, counsels, and evaluates staff regarding job performance, problem-solving and decision-making according to prescribed procedures and ensures that corrective action is taken as needed.

  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

  • Experience in providing training and developing the clinical services process, documentation/user manuals.

  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: opening a document, cutting, pasting and aligning text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, sorting, inserting bullets, pictures and dates, using find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane and/or print functions).

  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font style and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, aligning text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets).

  • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: inserting, rearranging, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, increasing list level, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or a note, moving objects, printing outline view and/or running a slide show).

  • Proven success in working remotely and autonomously while accomplishing goals, completing objectives, and determining escalation when necessary.

Physical Demand Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

  • May be required to occasionally bend, stoop, reach.

Travel Requirements: (if required)

  • Approximately 30% as required.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • BSN with CRNI or other professional certification.

  • At least 4 years of management experience in home health care setting.

  • Experience with documentation and billing requirements for home health/ infusion care goods and services.

  • Experience in the clinical management of home infusion patients including Patient management skills, the Nursing Process, the rules of Federal, state and local regulatory entities that oversee and control the provision of care in a Home Health Agency.

Due to some state pay transparency laws, below is the minimum pay for the position:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
