Oracle GDI - Government, Defense & Intelligence is looking to hire a Solutions Architect for the Oracle Program Management Office

This is a hybrid position with the ideal candidate based in the Reston, VA area.

As part of the Oracle Program Management Office Team, a Solutions Architect comes with a proven track record of solving customer challenges with a combination of hardware, software, and cloud technologies. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate ability to focus on customers' needs - not only the technical needs but also strategic needs, develop technical solutions around customer objectives in complex situations, motivate and align the goals internally to deliver excellent customer experience as results.

This role requires deep technical expertise and understanding of cloud technologies, a strong sense of technical evangelism, a relentless commitment to long term customer success, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities. The Solutions Architect will work closely with other team members to educate customers on Oracle capabilities, define project requirements, create detailed solution designs, respond to Task Order Proposal Requests, and provide guidance and direction throughout the onboarding process.

The ability to drive repeatable artifacts and contribute to deliverables as a force multiplier is a critical skill for the Solution Architect role. As part of the SA community, you will capture and share best practices with your peers, other teams such as Product Solutions Engineering, generate internal and external technical content, and participate in evangelist and workshop activities to grow the community.

Responsibilities

  • Architect solutions in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to solve complex customer problems.

  • Interact with customers at executive and architect level for any priority situations and react/respond timely manner.

  • Work with architects and development managers across Oracle product teams in both O&M and new requirement definition and service design capacities.

  • Create and improve current service deployment infrastructure using automation and the latest cloud capabilities to improve agility, reliability, and observability.

  • Provide technical Subject Matter Expert and pricing input to Task Order Proposal Responses.

  • Feedback to operations and service teams on realm service functionality.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science (or related field)

  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in a solutions architect or similar role

  • Strong technical background in cloud networking, storage, and security

  • Strong technical skills, including expertise in at least one major cloud platforms and familiarity with a variety of technical platforms and architectures

  • Recent architect certification in at least one major cloud platform, with a willingness to obtain architect certification in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges

  • Experience working with customers and managing customer relationships on an executive level

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience working on complex software development/integration projects is desirable (Consider striking)

  • Full life-cycle product development experience is desirable (Consider striking)

  • Knowledge and experience in using cloud deployment tools like Ansible, Terraform

  • Experience with Unix/Linux Shell or Python scripting

  • Experience with Oracle Database platform desirable

  • Experience with PL/SQL and SQL Programming is desirable

  • Experience with HTML and Javascript Programming is desirable

  • Top Secret Security Clearance with Polygraph

Hiring Range: from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
