Nvidia Senior Software Verification Engineer, Functional Safety Tools in Santa Clara, California

At NVIDIA, we are building the system, hardware, and software technology which enables autonomous driving. Our safety engineering team is currently looking for a Senior Software Verification Engineer to help in the verification and development of tools, methodologies, and flows required by the next generation of system on chip (SoC) and board products for autonomous driving. The functional safety analysis of complex SoCs and boards requires creative solutions to challenging engineering problems. The functional safety tools team strives to enable and accelerate the development work of teams building the next generation of functionally safe autonomous vehicles. The distributed team is highly collaborative with a broad scope, high visibility, and myriad opportunities for meaningful contributions. What you will be doing:

  • You will be working closely within the Functional Safety Tools team and with other internal safety engineering teams to deliver quality, innovative tools, methodologies, and flows to enable and improve functional safety development. Specific responsibilities of the Software Verification Engineer role include:

  • Support for implementation and alignment to a quality managed process as applied to functional safety related software development

  • Innovate to improve existing automated verification flows and framework used to verify and regression test tools developed for Linux and Windows execution environments.

  • Identify, analyze, and report software defects, inconsistencies, and other quality issues.

  • Improve product quality by improving test coverage.

  • Contribute to tool definition, development, integration and verification from concept to release.

  • Drive improvements for performance, quality, stability, reliability and robustness of our purpose built tools.

What we need to see:

  • A bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (or an advanced degree).

  • 5+ years of consistent track record in the development of EDA tools and flows.

  • Strong understanding of design methodologies for semiconductor and board development.

  • Strong problem solving and software engineering skills, a passion for applying them and a dedication to high quality work.

  • Expertise in Python or a similar language and an understanding of object-oriented programming.

  • Familiarity with the requirements for using tools in a development according to ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or related functional safety standards.

  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative team where you will regularly learn new things, tackle new problems, share ideas, and give and receive feedback.

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Academic or industry experience with the entire life cycle of an automation infrastructure or flow; from concept to the design, implementation, deployment, and support.

  • Exposure to robust, high quality software development processes used in the automotive and industrial markets.

  • Experience with DBMS (database management systems), such as MongoDB, SQLite, or Postgres.

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 276,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
