The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team within the Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure group is seeking a Senior Silicon Engineer . You will join our front-end silicon team and be responsible for delivering cutting-edge, high performance, low power, scalable and programmable DPU silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Validating silicon to solve complex problems in a datacenter.

  • Lead key components of functional validation of complex Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) System on Chip (SOC) using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)/C test bench

  • Perform Pre-Silicon SoC verification, Post-Silicon/ Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) validation by defining testing strategies

  • Work with Cross-functional teams, Architecture, Design, Verification, Partner teams for project execution and also influence next generation designs

  • Develop Test plan, C tests and infrastructure to complete functional validation of complex design and report bug/issues

  • Running tests, debugging failures, creating stress and performance scenarios to meet test plan goals

  • Actively participate in chip bring up and write test firmware to support various teams

  • Innovate to improve validation efficiency through methodologies and tools

  • Coach and mentor others in your areas of expertise

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related technical engineering experience

  • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience

  • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience

  • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in RTL Verification using UVM/C verification methodology

  • 5+ years of experience in Ethernet, TCP/IP, MAC/PCS, Networking blocks

  • 5+ years of experience in verification and development of complex System on Chips

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 11+ years technical engineering experience

  • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience

  • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience

  • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience.

  • In depth understanding of processors and peripheral interconnect bus protocols and architectures

  • knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog, UVM methodology

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Silicon Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
