Abbott Senior Manager Clinical and Risk Evaluation Project Management in Santa Clara, California

Our location in Santa Clara, CA currently has an opportunity for a Manager of Clinical and Risk Evaluation (CARE) program management. This position is responsible to establish, develop and implement financial planning and analysis for clinical evaluation and clinical risk management to ensure the planning process provides an efficient and effective tool for senior management to achieve expected outcomes for planning requirements. The Manager of Clinical and Risk Evaluation (CARE) program management leads a team of business analysts to support the CARE organization. The group manages the financial planning LBE cycles, tracking project timing, accruals and spending, and reporting out the financials, KPIs, and metrics for the CARE team. The team works with vendors on MSA development, annual SOWs and POs, and processing invoices for the work performed. The group also works across the CARE organization to implement systems and processes to improve ongoing costs, processes, etc.


  • Manage the development and execution of clinical evaluation financial planning process for Vascular, Structural Heart, Cardiac Rhythm Management & Heart Failure, Electrophysiology, and Neuromodulation.

  • Develop and coordinate the timeline, calendar, process, and reporting for Annual Plan, Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and Integrated Marketing Business Plan (IMBP).

  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and Global Functions to develop communications, instructions and coordinate planning activities.

  • Develop robust models for clinical evaluation planning purposes.

  • Manage and coordinate with senior staff the preparation of management presentations, special projects and related backup/analysis.

  • Oversee and coordinate internal key management financial reporting for clinical evaluation.

  • Develop and execute the clinical evaluation financial information utilizing relevant systems, to ensure appropriate reporting to the Finance Group.

  • Evaluate and suggest improvements in processes, systems, business analytics, and budgeting tools to meet the company’s financial reporting and analysis requirements.

  • Ensure team members have the appropriate training, coaching and rotational opportunities to develop broad based clinical and financial management professionals to support business needs.



  • BS in Business Administration or Finance

  • Minimum of 10 years Finance experience supporting a Business Unit

  • Expertise in developing complex business financial models

  • Strong project and program management skills

  • Outstanding communication and partnership skills, ability to handle multiple projects and stakeholders

  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to take charge, set objectives, drive to results

  • Successful track record in working on cross-functional, cross-team projects

  • Willing to take ownership
