ServiceNow is seeking a seasoned senior level Broadcast Engineer with experience in fast paced live-event production environments. This key role is responsible for all production engineering and technology including control room design and workflow build-outs. An ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of production hardware such as video switching, video/audio routing and patch bays, manned and PTZ cameras, audio mixers, microphones, scan conversion, recording devices, and Zoom integration. This senior engineer will also play a vital role on crew during live events at ServiceNow with global audiences of 10,000+ people. This role requires extremely adept troubleshooting skill and a passion for providing amazing experiences to our employees in a rapidly growing environment.

Roles/Responsibilities :

•Lead technical expert for troubleshooting of new hardware installations & upgrades

• Lead maintenance technician for all broadcast hardware and software

• Ensure all video, audio, lighting, and communications systems are functioning properly prior to and during events

•Lead and assist vendors with design and integration of current and new facilities.

•Assist with training crew members on current and new technologies

•Publish and/or broadcast events on Facebook Workplace, Zoom, Vmix and other virtual broadcast platforms

•Maintain quality control of all vMix and production switcher assets

•Develop efficient live video workflows, encoding procedures and streaming protocols

•Configure and operate live encoder hardware and software

•Collaborate with the ServiceNow Network Operations (NOC) team on network requirements to support our hardware and systems

•Create, develop, and maintain technical training materials and documentation and maintain system as-built documentation

Qualifications

Required Skills and Technologies :

•Ross Video production switchers

•Yamaha digital & analog audio mixing consoles

•Familiarity with broadcasting to major TV and Streaming networks (Fox, CNBC, CBS)

•Required experience in live video delivery with multiple Content Delivery Networks(CDNs) and The Switch

• Required experience with digital signal flows, including Dante, NDI, 3G SDI

• Required experience with various web and conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Facebook Workplace, Brightcove

•RF & WAP-based wireless mic systems

•Non-linear/HDD recording devices and operational experience with video storage solutions

•Video signal scan conversion and scaling

•HDMI and HDCP protocol expertise

•MacOS and Windows power-user on both platforms

•Knowledge of determining video codecs, formats, resolutions and transcoding

•IP/MAC address management of LAN/WAN-based devices

•Experience with Auto Cad and other system drawing tools

•Familiarity with basic IT networking, VLAN, Routing, ACL, QoS

•Network IP protocol knowledge including http, rtmp and rtsp.

•Familiarity with emerging IP media technologies, SMPTE 2022-6, ST2110-10 20,21,30,31, 40 - AES-67, Date audio NMOS AS-04 05 06

Basic Qualifications

•8+ years of experience in professional broadcast and AV systems engineering

•Ability to communicate effectively with team, internal partners, developers, systems engineers and various levels of management including executives

•Strong attention to detail

•Demonstrate initiative and comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $137,500 - $240,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
