Abbott Manager Financial Planning and Analysis in Santa Clara, California

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Santa Clara, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division

Responsible for coordinating and consolidating the quarterly financial forecasts (LBEs) and quarterly confirmation forecasts for global Abbott Vascular, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of financial information. Produce analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by the executive staff. Prepare high quality presentations to be shared with senior leaders across the organization.

What You’ll Work On

  • Serve as the primary global financial planning and analysis (FP&A) point of contact for the division. Includes maintaining an effective and efficient planning process, preparing a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables, identifying and communicating all FP&A submission requirements, developing flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to consolidate and analyze LBE results while ensuring financial submission materials meet requirements and needs of the division, Medical Devices headquarters and/or Corporate.

  • Produce high impact business analyses and decision support for executive management to optimize financial performance and profitability

  • Prepare clear and concise executive management presentation materials used to communicate division financial objectives and performance

  • Communicate with global FP&A contacts to coordinate on routine and ad hoc management requirements

  • Prepare and distribute daily sales reporting

  • Serve as the main contact for all division requests/administration for the financial planning system (DODECA). Implement system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.

  • Manage a FP&A manager and a senior financial analyst

Required Qualifications

Accounting, Finance Bachelors Degree or similar subject area.

Combined experience in accounting or finance (in addition to equivalent experience listed above). Prior supervisory experience of exempt employees preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization as well as with domestic and international colleagues

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.

  • Previous experience delivering accurate financial information that adds value to management’s decision-making process

  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivots, what if/sum if, etc.)

  • Proficient with Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degrees preferred. CPA or other certifications also preferred.

  • Experience with Dodeca or other financial planning tools is a plus

The base pay for this position is $125,700.00 – $251,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
