Your Career

We are looking for a Finance Manager, Cloud Finance to lead the end-to-end monthly cloud finance close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. In this critical role, you will manage the preparation and consolidation of monthly cloud hosting spend forecasts, aligning them with the company's financial goals. By conducting budget variance analysis and compliance reporting, you will provide senior leadership, including the CFO and CPO, with valuable insights into cloud expenditure trends. As a strategic cloud finance partner, you will collaborate cross-functionally to drive informed business decisions that optimize cloud spend and product margins which is critical to Palo Alto Networks financial health. Your Impact

  • Lead the end-to-end monthly cloud finance close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Manage the preparation and consolidation of monthly cloud hosting spend forecasts, ensuring alignment with company financial goals

  • Conduct budget variance analysis and compliance reporting to ensure financial alignment with business objectives

  • Provide regular cloud cost reporting to senior leadership, including the CFO and CPO, offering insights into cloud expenditure trends

  • Oversee purchase order administration, collaborating with Accounts Payable and Cloud Service Providers to resolve billing discrepancies

  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance team efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and reporting quality

  • Support ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives (e.g. unit economics, cost optimizations, long-term cloud spend forecasting, cloud service provider (CSP) negotiation modeling)

  • Serve as a strategic cloud finance partner to cross-functional teams, offering insights on budgeting, optimization, and analytics to drive informed business decisions

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of overall Finance experience ideally in SaaS industry and in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Strategic Finance or Business Partnership

  • Strong proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, variance analysis, and data-driven decision-making

  • Ability to generate meaningful financial insights from large datasets and present findings to senior leadership

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in financial analysis and reporting

  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving - ability to break down problems into easy to follow and logical steps and show end-to-end ownership

  • Experience with finance business partnering - Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams

  • Preferred, but not required experience

  • Tableau, SAC, SQL

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent (e.g., CFA, MBA) or equivalent military experience

  • FinOps / Cloud Certification a plus, but not required

The Team

Cloud infrastructure is a critical strategic component to our cloud delivered security offerings. The Cloud Finance team manages cloud spend across the whole PANW portfolio and across Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). We directly manage relationships with our CSPs and drive procurement optimizations via rate negotiations and committed/reserved usage discounts. Working alongside a tight-knit cross-functional group with CloudOps and IT, we build tooling and dashboards to provide teams with visibility into usage optimization opportunities and cloud unit economics, enabling teams to make the best strategic business decisions and providing Executive Staff with insightful, proactive recommendations to drive both topline and bottom-line growth across various portfolios within the Company.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $116000 - $188000/YR.
