About the role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Carrier Electronics Group, the candidate will play a key role in supporting the Embedded electronic hardware sustaining and platform direction for the Carrier Commercial, Residential and Transicold division.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting embedded Hardware sustaining, Quality and Root Cause Analysis reviews.

• Electronic Change Notice (ECN) generation, support, and implementation.

• Interface with Customers, Third Party laboratories, Reliability, Validation and Manufacturing teams to support test plan validation.

• Selecting and validate alternate components to support purchasing and manufacturing process.

• Communication with design engineering team to support Schedule – B projects and reduce field failures.

• Manufacturing plant support as escalation point for design related issues.

• Developin and document a standard work process for engineering changes validation.

• Developing a training process for new electrical engineers and provide guidance to the electrical engineering team.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Education: Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, related.

  • 3-5 years on similar positions.

  • Advanced English (mandatory)

  • Experience in electronic products troubleshooting to determinate root cause analysis by interpretating schematics and product specifications.

  • Experience in the sustaining of high volume. Embedded electronic controls for industrial or automotive markets.

  • Electronic Component selection, Architecture selection, Circuit Design, Simulation, Schematic capture, PCB layout and Bill of Material creation

  • Experience with Cadence or other equivalent electronic system design software

  • Excellent functional knowledge of electronic component and circuits including microprocessors, microcontrollers, op-amps, regulators, standard digital logic ICs, discrete components, and arras (Diodes, Transistors, Resistors, Capacitors, Inductors, Transient Voltage Suppressors, Metal Oxide Varistors, etc.)

  • Knowledge in Analog Signal Conditioning and Analog to Digital Conversion using both discrete components and Integrated Circuits.

  • Experience in High-speed Digital Circuitry, Bus Architecture and Communication ports using both discrete components and Integrated Circuits

  • Knowledge AC to DC and DC-DC Power supply design.

  • Knowledge of Design for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).

  • Thorough understanding of electronic test equipment such as DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, curve tracer, environmental & thermal shock testing.

  • Excellent oral communication as well as written documentation and presentation skills using MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Travel: 10% (North America)
