Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Sanford, Florida

Description

We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the construction and contractor industry. Located in Sanford, Florida, this role involves handling the company's accounts payable, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, and maintaining positive relations with our vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, review, and verify invoices and check requests.

• Ensure correct coding and authorization of payments along with sufficient documentation.

• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.

• Sort, code, and match invoices.

• Enter and upload invoices into the system.

• Track expenses and process expense reports.

• Prepare payment disbursements and maintain vendors files.

• Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.

• Reconcile accounts payable transactions.

• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.

• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquires.

• Provide supporting documentation for audits.

• Maintain accurate historical records.

• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.

• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

• Prepare and perform check runs.

• Prepare analysis of accounts and monthly reports.

• Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

• Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within Construction/Contractor industry

• Demonstrated proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proven experience in Coding Invoices and Invoice Processing

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on information at hand

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred

• Familiarity with construction accounting software would be an advantage.
