What you will do:
Performs analyses of financial effectiveness as requested by Administration. These will include, but not be limited to, general financial analysis and support for new and existing program development, decision support, and pro-forma financial statements, and support of all business improvement initiatives.
Provides decision support expertise to address informational needs of Medical Center management. Identifies how data and information can be used within the organization to support decisions and improve performance.
Provides documentation, training, and ongoing support to users of the Medical Center’s decision support systems.
Maintains and provides data pertaining to cost accounting for analytical use.
Serves as a liaison between users and technical personnel (both vendor and in-house). Manages user expectations and cultivates feedback for system enhancements.
Ensures appropriate and effective integration of various systems required for decision support, as well as data integrity. Responsible for the adequacy of decision support systems output.
Works on various projects and assignments as required, including pulling and aggregating data for regulatory reporting needs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid cost reports), as well as providing support for annual budgeting process upon request.
Ensures the timely and effective completion of daily activities, projects, and goals.
Ensures that tasks are completed at or above established standards and that the reported results are accurate and readily discernable.
Understands and applies relevant technical and professional knowledge and procedures.
Demonstrates technical and professional competencies in job performance.
Support development and implementation of all new/updates to Cost Accounting, Decision Support and General Financial systems.
Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.
Supports activities related to development of Cost Benefit Models
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance with two to four years’ experience in health care finance is required. Prefer Master’s degree and/or CPA certification. Demonstrated ability in all phases of financial analysis and financial concepts.
Interpret financial policies, governmental regulations, and accounting and financial theory.
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet software.
Demonstrated use of analytical skills.
Ability to perform complex arithmetic functions.
Ability to maintain neat and orderly records.
Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
Ability to communicate effectively with management and staff.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of organizational emergency codes.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Successful completion of a one hundred-eighty (180) day get acquainted period.
