Precision Assembly 80%

Mechanical Assembly Assemble custom built machinery, equipment, assemblies, subassemblies, etc. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order. Check work order and blueprint to determine required assembly and any special options. Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners for a particular work order. From experience, resolves assembly problems. Reports other problems to Supervisor for assistance. Maintains simple reports on work orders handled and quantities produced. Follow work order instructions and blueprint reading.

Tool & Die related Test and debug of customers designed tooling and equipment. Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specification, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same. Build, repair and install all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, machinery, tools and dies. Set up, runs and tests product to produce a product to specification, tracing difficulties to their source and correcting. Test and debug of customers designed tooling and equipment. Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machine install.

Education & Experience High school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma Degree or certificate from a related technical/vocational trade program preferred Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a related position, five (5) years preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities required Must have good working knowledge of material identification and processing characteristics and processes such as heat treatment etc. Experience in metal stamping, deep draw, progressive, and line die, setup, operation, troubleshooting preferred. Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry preferred. Ability to utilize hand tools and common machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, etc. preferred. Strong working knowledge with work holding, cutting tools, grinding wheels and shop supplies. Ability to utilize precision measurement tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc. preferred. Ability to comprehensively read and interpret engineering drawings and related documentation. Ability to follow quality plans and the proper use, care and calibration of inspection tooling and equipment. Good communication skills; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail. Good time management.
