Job Summary
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving daily sales efforts and for the overall positioning of the property. When procuring sale deals their main priorities are the guest services and business needs.
Activities & Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
Create and communicate sales goals and ensure leadership is informed on the progress of those goals.
Aspire to achieve individual, department and overall sales goals through motivation, dedication, knowledge, and determination for their hotel.
Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
Knowledgeable of competitive set and recommends sales/pricing strategies, services, and product improvements to stay competitive.
Drive total revenues to increase RevPAR.
Works with third-party vendor for digital marketing campaigns and third-party travel agencies to maximize RevPAR potential.
Anticipate and assess guests’ needs, thinking outside the box to always meet guest satisfaction.
Ensure guest service personnel are familiar with key accounts, rates, and specific needs of each client/event on schedule.
Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
Make strategic decisions based on data as provided through hotel provide tools.
Accountable to market performance and potential performance as well as budget forecast goals.
Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals
Direct the day-to-day activities of the sales team members selling and servicing group and catering customers in a proactive manner.
Maintain and log all client communications in CRM.
Responsible for ensuring weekly meetings are executed.
Manage accuracy and organization of client and internal files per hotel guidelines.
Responsible for prompt handling (within the business day) of inquiry calls.
Accountable for position booking goal and contribution goal.
Attend and participate in weekly revenue management calls.
Ensure Group Accounts are accurately billed and closed in a timely manner.
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Recruits and Interviews potential candidates.
Coach and counsel associates based on company standards.
Acts as manager on duty as needed.
Additional duties as assigned by General Manager or Regional Director of Operations for business needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Experience
Five to ten years of prior hotel sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience leading hotel sales marketing activities
Experience required may vary based on size and complexity of operation

Compensation plus participation in sales incentive plan.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 annually.
