Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA -accredited program.

  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience with relevant information technology, such as integrated library systems, open- URL link resolvers, and Microsoft Office applications, including proficiency with Excel.

  • Knowledge of current models, practices, and tools used by academic libraries for the acquisition and management of e-resources.

  • Familiarity with the COUNTER usage data standard.

  • Familiarity with the EBSCO suite of tools.

  • Proven ability to utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills, including working together and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, faculty, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team of professionals in electronic resource licensing and management.

  • Experience with FOLIO and EBSCOhost or similar library and resource management systems.

  • Experience with budgeting for acquisitions, including experience with SAP or a similar accounts management system.

Job Description

Texas State University Libraries is seeking an Electronic Resources Management Librarian. This position provides leadership and expertise in managing all aspects of library electronic resources licensing. The person in this position will play a pivotal role in University Libraries’ efforts to meet current and emerging information needs and provide access to a broad and wide collection of scholarly content. The Electronic Resources Management Librarian will collaborate with colleagues across University Libraries and the Texas State University campuses to support the University Libraries licensed electronic resources program. The Electronic Resources Management Librarian will be the primary liaison with publishers, content providers, and consortia to support electronic resources licensing and management for Texas State University Libraries.

Job Duties

  • Lead electronic resources license negotiation, execution, and management for Texas State University Libraries; lead in developing and expanding licensing guidelines and parameters for Texas State University Libraries

  • Provide information, training, and guidance to stakeholders within the University Libraries and throughout the university on the requirements and acceptable terms of use of licensed library electronic resources

  • Work collaboratively with the Electronic Resources Librarian, the Collections Librarian and the Resource Sharing Librarian to continually develop and enhance University Libraries’ collection development policy.

  • Collaborate with the Discovery & Access Lead Librarian to insure accurate and consistent metadata for electronic resources in the library catalog and discovery systems.

  • Coordinate and/or perform special projects, to support University Libraries, Division, and university priorities and strategic goals.

  • Other duties as assigned.
