Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Must possess EPA Section 608 certification or be able to obtain one within 90 days
Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts
Ability to understand & follow job instructions
Ability to perform basic math & use trade-specific tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education and/or government
Ability to read & interpret technical manuals, blueprints & schematics
Computer skills, including proficiency with e-mail & use of a portable electronic device/tablet
Experience using AiM & SAP
Job Description
Conduct maintenance and repairs on the university’s air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Job Duties
- Assists Head A/C Mechanic with equipment/system checks, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC equipment and systems.
Additional Information to Applicants
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain eligibility to drive a university vehicle pursuant to the University’s Driver Selection Policy.
Must be available to work on call on a rotating basis with other HVAC shop personnel.
