Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Must possess EPA Section 608 certification or be able to obtain one within 90 days

  • Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts

  • Ability to understand & follow job instructions

  • Ability to perform basic math & use trade-specific tools and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education and/or government

  • Ability to read & interpret technical manuals, blueprints & schematics

  • Computer skills, including proficiency with e-mail & use of a portable electronic device/tablet

  • Experience using AiM & SAP

Job Description

Conduct maintenance and repairs on the university’s air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Job Duties

  • Assists Head A/C Mechanic with equipment/system checks, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC equipment and systems.

Additional Information to Applicants

  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain eligibility to drive a university vehicle pursuant to the University’s Driver Selection Policy.

  • Must be available to work on call on a rotating basis with other HVAC shop personnel.
