Aerotek Quality Assurance Technician in San Leandro, California

Description:

Responsible for testing, inspection of products and processes at various points in the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to company quality & food safety standards. The technician is also responsible for establishing and executing the disposition of products that do not meet company quality standards.

This position is responsible for performing and documenting quality and food safety checks as required, to ensure all products meet companies quality standards and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct quality audits and review self-control paperwork.

  • Monitor electronic weight and attribute systems; report deviations.

  • Perform analytical testing on products and raw materials (e.g., color, fat content, pH).

  • Recommend quality and production standard modifications.

  • Assess incoming materials for specification compliance using TraceGains.

  • Calibrate and verify lab equipment; document in the Internal Control Plan.

  • Conduct environmental sampling per the Environmental Monitoring Program.

  • Audit operator paperwork for magnet, screen, and metal detection checks.

  • Attend daily shift transition meetings for QA representation.

  • Evaluate and improve testing protocols.

  • Verify and document allergen cleanup post-production changeover.

  • Investigate and resolve non-conforming materials and products.

  • Conduct product analysis with operations to prevent quality issues.

  • Analyze co-manufacturing product samples and maintain records.

  • Participate in sensory evaluations as needed.

  • Create and update documents on SharePoint.

  • Conduct monthly food safety self-inspections.

  • Maintain the 5S system in the lab and work area.

  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices in testing and data entry.

  • Generate QA Key Performance Indicator graphs.

  • Perform verification checks on Critical Control Points (CCP).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Computer

• Utilize computer to enter and track test result data.

• Evaluate test data and report deviations from existing standards.

• Evaluate incoming material Certificate of Analysis (COA) against the current company specifications. Validate COA through either internal or outside lab testing of product according to specified audit frequency.

• Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for customers upon requests

• Knowledge of GMP, 5s, GLP, HACCP and Quality & Food Safety Systems.
