Aerotek Quality Assurance Technician in San Leandro, California

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description:

Responsible for testing and inspecting products and processes throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure compliance with company quality and food safety standards. Additionally, the technician manages the disposition of products failing to meet these standards. This position also involves performing and documenting quality and food safety checks to maintain the highest standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct quality audits and review self-control paperwork.

  • Monitor electronic weight and attribute systems; report deviations.

  • Perform analytical testing on products and raw materials (e.g., color, fat content, pH).

  • Recommend modifications to quality and production standards.

  • Assess incoming materials for specification compliance using TraceGains.

  • Calibrate and verify lab equipment; document in the Internal Control Plan.

  • Conduct environmental sampling as per the Environmental Monitoring Program.

  • Audit operator paperwork for magnet, screen, and metal detection checks.

  • Attend daily shift transition meetings for QA representation.

  • Evaluate and improve testing protocols.

  • Verify and document allergen cleanup post-production changeover.

  • Investigate and resolve non-conforming materials and products.

  • Conduct product analysis with operations to prevent quality issues.

  • Analyze co-manufacturing product samples and maintain records.

  • Participate in sensory evaluations as needed.

  • Create and update documents on SharePoint.

  • Conduct monthly food safety self-inspections.

  • Maintain the 5S system in the lab and work area.

  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices in testing and data entry.

  • Generate QA Key Performance Indicator graphs.

  • Perform verification checks on Critical Control Points (CCP).

  • Quality assurance, GMP, quality control, inspection, food manufacturing, food safety HACCP

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:

  • Occasional to constant repetitive fine manipulation (keyboarding, ten-key, writing).

  • Rare to occasional ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Rare to occasional squatting, bending, stooping, stretching.

  • Work in a laboratory with equipment and machinery.

  • High noise environment.

  • Willingness to work weekend hours, overtime, and any required shifts.
