A Brief OverviewThe Senior Business Analyst (SBA) has a critical role supporting the Consumer Business Financial Optimization & Analytics Manager by producing financial reports to track business performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, understanding and identifying profitability drivers and assisting the Analytics team in estimating ROI for portfolio management strategies and tactics. The SBA must work with all FirstBank and vendors stakeholders to make sure that financial data is analyzed, understood and recommendations are provided in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The SBA is responsible for tracking accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions regarding actual of Credit Cards & Personal Loans. In addition, he is a key player of the reforecast and budgeting processes, making sure that required information is gathered, assumptions are documented, income and expenses forecast is produced and submitted as required. What you’ll do•Responsible for producing the Credit Cards and Personal Loans Monthly Budget Monitor Analysis, where he must gather, produce, analyze, generate explanations and recommendations of the variances vs. budget integrating information from different support areas and team members. The information must be shared with the Consumer Business management team on a monthly basis.•Responsible for understanding, analyzing and sharing a monthly report for Senior Management of the Credit Cards processing vendor. Must comprehend the business and invoicing factors, translating key KPIs into processing costs to pinpoint opportunities and potential cost savings.•Responsible for generating the Quarterly Assessments Reports that are submitted to the Networks and to monitor and understand Networks costs and invoicing structure. Must provide recommendations on potential areas of efficiency (cancelling reports, opting out from some mandates, among others) to attain costs within expected levels.•Responsible for producing, analyzing and tracking rewards expense variances and expenses, being able to gather data from the vendor and integrating it with internal information. •Develops and different financial models using available data from different sources to support business decision making process and identify gaps to improve profits margins.•Co-Lead the annual forecast and budgeting process. Gathering data from the different stakeholders and translating it into income and expense drivers to forecast business expected P&L, providing assumptions based on trended and expected portfolios behavior and making sure that information is accurate, documented and submitted on time.•Responsible for monitoring, developing and updating pricing models for the consumer business and tracking of the main business KPIs.•Work on special projects and other related functions as needed.What You’ll Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and/or three to five years of experience in the Banking Industry. •Business acumen & Strong financial skills•Analytical & critical thinking skills•Ability to perform financial analysis•Ability to make decisions and take initiative•Excellent problem solving skills.•Prioritizes work and able to respond to multiple demands•Strong presentation and communication skills•Accuracy & detail oriented•Knowledge in accounting and regulatory requirements for ALLL, preferable.•Advanced knowledge in Excel with proven experience, data validation and reporting (ex.SAS, SQL & Power BI)
