Smith & Nephew Inc Market Access Manager in San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Smith+Nephew Market Access Manager involves managing day-to-day negotiations with HMOs/PPOs on existing contracts and new technology inclusion, handling denials, overseeing Third Party billing partners, account receivables, and resolving disputes related to S&N claims.
What will you be doing?
- Will be the Billing Subject Matter Expert for S&N local management and Business Unit Leaders, helping them understand the feasibility of therapies for markets in Puerto Rico & the Caribbean.
- Supports the introduction of new technologies at hospitals and MCOs across all our businesses: Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, ENT, and Advanced Wound Management.
- Maintain constant communication with mid-level to C-suite executives in payers in the market, developing strong relationships with payers, HCPs, hospital personnel, and other stakeholders to implement S&N's strategy and drive sustainable growth that outpaces the competition.
Payer Management:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies for engaging with payers and expanding market share within the sector.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at HMOs/PPOs, including executives, decision-makers, and network administrators.
- Negotiate complex contracts, pricing agreements, and reimbursement terms to ensure favorable conditions for the company and maximize sales opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and payers, ensuring exceptional service delivery, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Conduct regular business reviews with payers to assess satisfaction levels, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for partnership expansion and value creation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute customer-centric strategies, tailored solutions, and value-added services to meet the unique needs of our partners.
Market Intelligence:
- Constantly seek market information to understand market size per business and develop strategies to win in the marketplace.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new product launches, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Maintain knowledge of the product category, including its competitive position and competing products, including substitutes.
- Gather regional sales information and make recommendations for strategic plans and reviews.
What you will need
Complete graduation in the health area (preferably)
Previous experience in the medical device segment/role
English fluency is required
