FirstBank Puerto Rico COMMERCIAL CREDIT ANALYST in San Juan, Puerto Rico

A Brief OverviewThe Credit Analyst analyzes the financial information of clients, manages the credit needs of accounts assigned, structures and proposes credit facilities, performs periodic and annual reviews, criticized reports, risk rating and industry analysis and monitors delinquency and compliance with covenants. The Analyst also monitors compliance with Federal Regulations and Bank Policies, as well as the accuracy and completeness of collateral and related documentation. The Analyst compiles and maintains portfolio data for Department Head, follows up to assure compliance with Department’s quarterly/annual review schedule and assists in the preparation of presentations and other related tasks.What you’ll do·Analyzes and structures credit requests for new and existing Corporate Banking borrowers within established performance standards on a timely basis.·Prepares credit memoranda (CAM) with corresponding attachments, to accurately present pertinent credit risks and provide applicable recommendations.·Monitors collateral periodically to detect any loss in value, monitors collateral exceptions and follows up on pending items.·Manages and controls accounts assigned to guarantee borrowing relationships are within established risk parameters.·Manages the risk associated with existing borrowing relationships through appropriate credit strategies, structure, and compliance with credit policies.·Monitors delinquency reports and follows up on client’s condition, to determine when closer monitoring is needed.·Early refers potential problematic loans to Department Head and/or Work Out unit as applicable.·Establishes the appropriate remedial attention levels and defines action plan in collaboration with Department Head and Business Relations Officers.·Works closely with Business Relations Officers in the review of documentation and obtains data needed for loan closing.·Monitors compliance with company’s policies and practices, and regulatory requirements, in order to achieve a satisfactory rating from internal and external auditors.·Performs credit administration tasks including customer and site visits, covenant compliance, borrowing base review, periodic financial statement review, risk rating analysis, overdrafts and account usage, and periodic review of collateral and documentation.·Consistently provides high level costumer service to minimize attrition, measured by responsiveness, work quality, product and process knowledge and professionalism.·Maintains portfolio data and statistics updated for Department Head, follows up to assure compliance with Department’s quarterly/annual review schedule and other reporting requirements and assists in the preparation of presentations and special projects.What You’ll Need to Succeed·Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is required for this position.·MBA preferred.·Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the financial services industry. This experience must include analysis of financial statements, financial modeling, and projections.·Computer software proficiency (Excel and financial models a must)·Knowledge of commercial / corporate credit practices·Write, speak, and comprehend English and Spanish·Strong analytic thinking capacity·Leadership Skills·Strong communication skills·Strong interpersonal communication skills·Strong problem recognition and solutions skills
