FirstBank Puerto Rico Business Relationship Officer III in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Brief OverviewOur Relationship Officer position is a sales and relationship management position with primary responsibilities of attracting, serving and expanding new and existing affluent and high-net worth customers. Lead and drive the strategy for an assigned/self-originated portfolio over 100MM in total deposit relationship balances. ROs initially introduces the client to the First Bank platform and subsequently services and deepens relationship by offering and marketing a wide array of financial services including banking, cash management and credit products according to client needs. Responsible for all control aspects for the customer: KYC, AML, Alerts, profile update. Protects the bank and the client by complying with relevant policies, procedures, legal and regulatory framework.What You’ll Need To Succeed:· Develop and execute sales plan to meet business goals.· Promote and market bank’s products, including commercial credit, deposits and transactional services.· Achieve sales targets as communicated in the Relationship Officer scorecard.· Identify and facilitate referrals to other lines of business, including mortgage, insurance, investments, auto and retail banking.· Builds business and deepens relationships through the execution of an effective sales process.· Creates and organizes a sales plan and methodology designed to acquire new target clients - Generates leads and grows the business through active calling new potential customers.· Assures focus on growth for their own means, whether acquisition or deepening, to achieve business annual growth goals.· Solicits clients actively via telephone, mail, referrals, etc.· Negotiates transactions ensuring Firstbank’s profitability standards.· Sponsors client/prospect events to expand their awareness or knowledge.· Interfaces with other business groups on sales lead opportunities.· Day-by-day coordination of the members of his/her team, assigning service and support roles.· Maintain access to and credibility with clients as a trusted banking advisor. Handle inquiries and resolve problems whenever contacted by client.· May be responsible for overseeing other team members· Complies with BSA/AML/KYC and regulatory policies to ensure the safety and security of bank and customer assets.· Responsible for the compliance and control side of his client relationships - customer ownership.· Extreme sense of urgency and reliability in dealing with customer requests or affairs.· Participates in staff meetings and individual coaching sessions, as needed.· Substitute fellow ROs during their absences.· Assists the business head in special projects as needed.· The degree of judgment is related to identification and definition of new problems of moderate complexity and creation and implementation of policies, strategies and working methods of general application, following specific operations procedures and guidelines. Also uses independent judgment in the application of policies and procedures to administrate moderate to complex situations related to staff relations in conjunction with other areas.· The impact of errors of this position could affect activities related with the position and other departments’ main activities and activities with impact to key external customers. Also could affect the confidence and reputation with customers and regulators.Minimum Requirements You’ll Need: · Bachelor’s degree· A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the banking or securities industry, or 5+ years of relevant sales experience managing complex accounts and sophisticated clients.· Ability to develop commercial business plans in line with the business strategy. Strong financial services sales experience.· Strong teamwork skills, as well as leadership and management skills to properly assign team’s roles and responsibilities.· Good knowledge of banking and securities products preferred.· Comprehensive knowledge of the economic trends, market conditions or events and their potential effect on customer’s finances.· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, in English and Spanish· Knowledge of banking laws, including Know your customer, Bank Secrecy Act, US Patriot Act, CRA, Truth in Lending, Truth in Savings, among other compliance and control issues.· Superior sales/relationship building skills. Handling of difficult customers.· Computer literate in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and banking tools.· Available to work extended hours, holidays, weekends and flexible schedules.· Own car in good conditions and valid driver’s license.· Demonstrated ability to produce sales results, both acquisition and relationship growth, with targeted client.· Maintain a current and proficient understanding of progressively complex products and services.· Must be up to date on compliance matters.· Ability to prioritize multiple customer issues.
