A Brief OverviewThe Accountant revises the daily transaction processed by the Business Unit or Department; verifies accounting information monitors and reconciles the accounts of the department. Also analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.Accountable for adhering to the Bank’s BSA, AML and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFCA) applicable policies. Employee must follow specific unit procedures developed in compliance with the policies. Employee is also responsible for reporting any suspicious activity and/or transactions in accordance with the Bank’s processes and comply with any mandatory BSA, AML and OFAC training assigned.What you’ll do· Analyzes and performs reconciliation of accounts related to Bank and its subsidiaries ongoing projects, as well as capitalizes the projects.· Processes payments, analyzing the checks requisition received, performing the related accounting entries, also prints checks and sends payments.· Attends internal and external client's inquiries, including transactions investigations.· Posts and revises accounting entries.· Analyzes records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries, using the computer.· Performs accounts reconciliations of the department, and entries related information on the appropriated Information Systems, also the incumbent can monitor and audit accounts reconciliation.· Monitors accounts daily movements and refers to management when appropriate.· Contributes to the Department team effort, achieving additional results as needed.What You’ll Need to SucceedFormal Education· A Business Administration Bachelor's Degree with a minor in Accounting or Finance is required for this position.Knowledge and Experience· The incumbent must have at least one or more years of experience on a similar position. · Experience in Banking preferable.
