General Description

The Operations Governance department is responsible of managing financial, operational, and regulatory matters for the Operations Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the execution of over 40 yearly audits managed centrally in the department.

  • Responsible of ascertaining accuracy of the information provided to the auditors.

  • Serve as liaison between the auditors and the Division’s subject matter experts.

  • Provide management support in the preparation of corrective action plans, when applicable, to ascertain the issues are addressed and properly corrected on a timely manner.

  • Become specialist of the processes executed in the Operations Division to understand their impact from a financial, operational, and regulatory perspective.

  • Responsible to update all applicable systems with updated status of audits and findings. Also, periodically report progress to Division’s management.

  • Update statistical reports of the Division’s and department’s key metrics.

  • Support the team on Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) matters pertaining to the Operations Division (including PR and US Operations).

  • Support the strategic initiatives identification and budget processes.

  • Provide oversight and monitoring of the financial figures (i.e., monthly closings) for the Division.

  • Support strategic initiatives for new products or services to ensure the proper implementation of internal controls.

  • Provide support on matters pertaining to the FDIC 370 rule to ensure compliance with the requirements established by the regulator.

  • Provide support in special projects that may arise within the Division or in collaboration with other Divisions.

Education

Bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

At least three years of related experience in auditing, Sarbanes Oxley, financial reporting and the accounting cycle.

Certifications/ Licenses

Preferred CPA with experience auditing processes, certified internal auditor or certified on internal controls.

KSA's (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Must be fully bilingual

  • Excellent communications skills verbal and written in English and Spanish.

  • Ability to work with cross- functions teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established deadlines

  • Process improvement mindset.

  • Proficient in the use of SAP system.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: Excel (macros), Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
