Amazon Sr. Program Manager , Payment Risk in San Jose, Costa Rica

Amazon.com’s Buyer Risk Prevention's (BRP) mission is to make Amazon the safest and most trusted place worldwide to transact online. BRP safeguards every financial transaction across all Amazon sites.

As a Senior Program Manager in BRP, you will be responsible for creating and managing roadmaps for implementing new solutions to prevent fraud in Amazon stores by supporting new and existing payment products. You will be working closely with businesses and understanding the requirements of Technology, Machine learning and Operations teams. Making appropriate trade-offs to optimize business solutions and Customer Experience, and clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams.

You will interact with a section of the Amazon organization as you clarify ambiguous issues and define effective mechanisms between development and business teams.

You will be applying a breadth of tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and proactively present new insights in a concise and effective manner.

The role requires a seasoned individual who has proven track record as a Program Manager.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage the Payment Risk program strategy and roadmap to deliver effective results which includes understanding bottlenecks, assessing opportunities, analyzing competitors and potential partners, setting roadmap.

  • Build and implement plans in a scalable manner, creating mechanisms to ensure scalability, high-quality output.

  • Build strong internal relationships across Amazon, and influence internal teams to deliver the right results for the business.

  • Collaborate with other teams including Tech, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and others, to deliver results.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
