Robert Half VP/Director of Finance in San Jose, California

Description

Colleen McAuliffe 408.906.0669 is looking for a Director of Finance to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will manage our educational institution's fiscal operations, including developing our annual operating budget, overseeing grant administration, and managing federal and state contracts.

Profit is required, and the education sector of nonprofits is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

• Proficiently manage and oversee federal and state contracts

• Engage with external auditors to monitor the financial health of the organization

• Develop the annual operating budget in collaboration with leadership, boards, and external partners

• Significantly influence budgeting, planning, and reporting, including Federal Addendum and Title reports

• Collaborate with site leaders, the Executive Director, and Operations & HR Managers in securing various liability insurance coverages

• Participate in financial aid and scholarship committee meetings and contribute to crucial decision-making processes

• Lead the annual audit of the organization's finances

• Handle legal matters related to employee and vendor contracts

• Oversee the grant administration function, ensuring compliance and effective utilization of funds

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Annual Budget, Budget Processes, Grant Administration, Financial Modeling, and Non-profit Accounting to ensure effective fiscal management.

Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or related field

• Demonstrable proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with annual budget and budget processes is essential

• Prior experience in grant administration is highly preferred

• Proficient in financial modeling and able to provide strategic financial insights

• Experience in non-profit accounting is necessary

• Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively across departments

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Advanced degree in finance, business, or related field is preferred

• Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is a plus.
