Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Staff Electrical Engineer in San Jose, California

How you will make an impact?

You will work with other R&D team members to design, implement, test, and validate PCBA and systems. Our products and instruments are used in the proteomics and metabolomics arena and also impacts human health in areas such as water safety and food safety technology. We deliver best-in-class analytical instruments to meet customers’ most demanding applications.

What you will do?

• Lead electrical subsystem design and development

• Formulate a clear vision of the overall final product and its features to drive design choices and implementation timing

• Work with a team of engineers and scientists designing precision analog and low frequency RF systems for scientific instruments

• Prepare execution plans for engineering subsystems

How you will get here:

Education

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering; Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience will be considered

Experience

• 10+ years of electrical design experience

• Demonstrated proficiency in electrical and systems engineering to develop engineering solutions with significant impacts toward product development

• Experience using analog laboratory test equipment including: signal generators, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and network analyzers

• Strong hands-on experience with design and testing tools such as OrCAD, PSpice, and Altium

• Hands-on integration and testing of electro-mechanical systems, (embedded electronics, motion control, thermal control, fluidic systems, etc)

• Experience working in product development teams from initial investigation, and design through to manufacturing introduction.

The salary range estimated for this position is $153100 - $233950. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
