Robert Half Senior GL Accountant in San Jose, California
Description
We are seeking a Senior GL Accountant for our client in the semi-conductors and manufacturing industry located in San Jose, California. The role involves contributing to the accounting operations within the company. This includes taking part in the monthly close process, preparing general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. The Senior GL Accountant will also be required to perform account analysis, investigate variances, and resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the monthly close process through the preparation of general ledger journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules for financial reporting.
• Analyze account to investigate variances and resolve issues.
• Input and review data in the ERP system for consolidation.
• Provide support to the Cost Accounting team during monthly close activities.
• Contribute to the creation of the monthly CFO package and Audit Fluctuation comments.
• Identify opportunities to streamline or improve existing accounting processes.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors for quarterly reviews, the annual audit and SOX control testing.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget by processing data and reviewing for reasonableness and accuracy with respect to historical trends.
• Manage general accounting responsibilities such as sales cut-off testing, maintaining the fixed assets subledger, and preparing the property tax return.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with various departments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
