The Opportunity

Are you a seasoned engineering leader with expertise in cloud-scale engineering, CI/CD, and release operations? You will join an impactful, fast-moving unified storage group team. You will be crucial in designing and developing reliable, efficient, and high-performance software for large-scale enterprise and hybrid cloud environments. Your work will involve understanding complex distributed systems and solving customer requirements by designing innovative solutions. Working closely with various teams, you will contribute to delivering high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. The role also offers the opportunity to engage with customers and support them in resolving production issues. You will have the opportunity to address technical debt and drive aggressive performance goals for the platform, while ensuring prompt resolution of customer issues by collaborating with support and SRE teams

Nutanix Data Lens, a new product offering, is a cloud-based data management, security and compliance solution for Nutanix unified storage - Files and Objects. The product not only supports Nutanix unified storage but also supports other storage systems. NDL helps developers build the integrated data pipeline with storage systems, utilizing the cloud platform for speedy feature rollout and better manageability and support. For business owners, NDL helps reduce data blindness and gives a comprehensive view of data on data complying with security and compliance standards. Some of these features are already available to our customers and need further improvements to make it enterprise-grade.

Your Role

  • This is a technology position that requires prior experience in cloud-scale engineering, CI/CD, Plaform Security, release operations.

  • Oversee engineering program management with excellent orchestration across cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices for programs, developer productivity processes, and tools.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the Developer Productivity team and Program & Release Management focused on overall excellence.

  • Proven record of success in program management, delivering technical software programs, managing teams, and leading organizational change.

  • Manage engineering operations, budgets, enablement, and order management.

  • Leadership Excellence: Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering productivity teams, with a track record of delivering excellence.

  • Lead with strong management skills and drive organizational change with alignment.

  • Manage teams to deliver software engineering projects with a focus on diversity and inclusion and a geo-location strategy.

  • Manage internal, external stake holders and coordinate competing priorities, ensuring that the team produces High-quality solutions while meeting deadlines effectively.

  • Drive innovation within the organization by promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement in on-premises and cloud practices.

  • Strong experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure tools, test infrastructure, and incident management with RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for process efficacy.

  • Oversee the successful delivery of complex technical programs and solutions, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery across major, minor, and patch releases, with a strong customer-focused approach while working closely with multiple stakeholders including engineering, quality assurance, information security, IT, and leadership teams.

  • Challenge the status quo by delivering operational excellence.

  • Extensive experience managing engineering data centers to better align with budgets, programs, data center alignments, and strategic objectives.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in DevOps technologies, technical program management operations, and make recommendations for their integration into the organization's strategy.

  • Focus on continuous improvement, adherence to best development productivity practices, and the ability to ensure that applications are designed with scalability, resilience and performance.

  • Create and manage budgets for the Developer Productivity and Program Management Engineering teams while overlooking engineering budgets and alignments.

  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure the security, reliability, scalability and performance of the applications and infrastructure for better efficacy.

  • Monitor and report performance of the team and solutions produced.

  • This role also requires a commitments to security, regulatory and governance standards, as well as a proactive approach to risk managements and capacity planning.

  • Estimated Travel Percentage (25%): Ability to travel and build strong relationships with global teams.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience managing large engineering teams.

  • Experience with technical program management and release management, focusing on quality delivery and agile methodologies.

  • Experience with developer productivity and aligning release delivery across the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with robust logical reasoning abilities.

  • Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Experience in leadership roles or similar positions focused on enhancing productivity in technology settings is preferred

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 277,600 and USD $ 555,600 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
