Job Summary:
This position is responsible for Continuous improvement of existing production lines including but not limited to improving floor layouts, optimizing available space and improving material flow, creation of work cells to generate expected work output, generation and modification of standard work and creation of job aids/fixtures to improve ergonomics and productivity of operators.
Essential Job Functions:
Must be self-motivated and a self-starter with basic project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrates ability and create and build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Demonstrates the desire and ability to learn and apply Lean and 6 Sigma techniques and methodologies to generate improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics
Design, conduct, and analyze time/motion studies
Create, publish and maintain standard worksheets.
Identify, design and execute line layout and process improvements.
Develop and implement templates, procedures, and standards to support quality system, lean management program, and safety program deployment and maintenance.
Utilize software tools to collect and analyze production data.
Ability to work on the production floor approximately 75% of the workday to perform job responsibilities
Willing to work for cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality Engineering and Operations)
Able to work with engineers to review, understand and draft technical documentation (e.g. Engineering Change Orders, Engineering Drawings, Process SOPs etc) if required
Ability to read and draw floor layout prints using 2D CAD (AutoCAD) as needed
Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs
Ability to provide own transportation daily, to and from work
Additional Responsibilities:

Required / Preferred Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s of Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology or Technology, or related STEM field from an ABET accredited program similar
Experience working Microsoft Office products is essential
Three (3) completed semesters completed with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Authorized to work in U.S.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience working in a manufacturing or production work environment
Experience working in a medical device (or similar) regulated industry
The hourly rate for this position cis $21 an hour.
