What you'll do here:
The Education Sales Consultant in the K-12 market will work with our K12 Partners in Education to help them achieve equity of access to high quality educational content and impact student learning. You will be expected to conduct in-person and virtual sales consultation meetings with administrators and teachers. You will strategically manage and grow business in an assigned territory. Education sales consultants will develop relationships with a diverse group of educators to help influence education You must have a drive for results, and enjoy originating, negotiating, and securing business to achieve sales goals.
Sales prospecting and execution
Manage a territory with strategic planning skills and strong time management to maximize sales revenue through account penetration and growth. Plan proactively, but accept changes with flexibility and diligence to pursue new directions.
Engage in sales activities to prospective customers to explore and present digital curriculum, professional development and research solutions.
Represent and promote Gale products to drive sell-through, digital activations, usage, and to form relationships with decision makers.
Attend conventions and evaluate sales/editorial opportunities as appropriate.
Use software-based analytics / business intelligence tools to identify and prioritize target accounts based on past sales and buying history
Contact targeted leads based on data insights.
Provide customers with demonstrations and sales quotes, both in-person and virtually.
Use data to identify priorities for allocation of time and resources.
Approximately 50% travel to visit key customers, work conventions, trainings, and internal meetings within the assigned territory.
Provide accurate forecast and sales activity reporting using company sales tools, including regular data maintenance for win/loss in the CRM.
Collaborate with other K12 Education Sales Consultants on techniques and strategies to achieve sales objectives.
Manage travel budgets effectively
Conduct regular self-paced learning to further develop skills and knowledge.
Skills you will need here:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred and a proven, successful track record in a prior sales position.
Experience or strong skills for developing and maintaining relationships with a large and diverse group of customers.
Values and appreciates diversity of thought; able to work with diverse audiences both internally and externally.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
High energy and good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Competitive spirit and eye for business.
Demonstrated understanding of applied computer technology.
Comfortable using technology in performing routine job tasks and for product demonstration purposes.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office applications.
Located within assigned sales territory
2 years of teaching, sales or publishing experience
Sales experience in and/or strong knowledge of digital information delivery
Current or former teaching experience in the K-12 market.
Experience in selling to the education market.
Experience using contact management systems, such as SalesForce.
A demonstrated ability to navigate a complex and changing sales environment.

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$49,500.00 - $79,200.00 USD
