We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one of Samsung’s strategic investments in high performance low power ARM based device technology. Presently our GPU design teams, located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL), are developing a GPU that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products. Our System IP team located in Austin (SARC) is working on Coherent Interconnect and memory controller architectures
Role and Responsibilities
As a Contract GPU SW Program Manager, you will become a key member of our software development team. You will be directly responsible for delivering the newest and most up to date graphics drivers from our developers to our partners. As a multi-functional team leader in a globally distributed organization, you are responsible for driving the software development process from the requirements stage, through specification, design, development, validation, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide Cross-Functional leadership and direction to a geographically distributed team of software development engineers, including planning, scheduling, and tracking execution of projects and deliverables
Offer end-to-end cross-functional management for software offerings, interacting with product managers, key customers, and ISVs to ensure responsiveness to critical priorities
Creating, managing, and communicating the software product roadmap
Working closely with multi-functional teams developing other related components, you will ensure graphic driver deliverables are on time and meet functional and quality expectations
Skills and Qualifications
BSEE, Computer Science, Computer Engineer or comparable and 10 + years of experience
10 + years of hands on experience in software development / management
Proficient with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
Ability to work independently, take-charge and improve project visibility with minimal mentorship
Work with worldwide partners across different time zones, geographies, and diverse technical disciplines to define commitments, report on status, and deliver projects to expectation
Able to think strategically and tactically and build consensus and collaborative teamwork to make programs successful
Prior experience managing large programs
Knowledge of operating systems, software development standard methodologies, embedded systems, and 3D graphics rendering are highly valued
Excellent skills at communicating and presenting project details
Preferred candidate will possess the following:
Prior GPU software development experience a plus
Able to effectively communicate status to multi-functional teams as well as upper management
Craft and implement new processes for workflow between different teams
Experience using tools like MS Project, JIRA and Confluence, and ability to implement process automation in support of this role advantageous
Working knowledge of C/C++, Linux, Android, and Python
